Vintage Briar Edge Service Tools carpenter’s half hatchet, professionally rehung on a 12” unbranded Liam Hoffman hickory carver handle.The hang is the main feature here. This is a compact vintage head that has been properly seated, fitted, wedged, and finished on a premium LH hickory carver-style handle. Liam Hoffman handles are widely regarded as some of the best axe handles available, known for excellent grain, shaping, balance, and hand feel. This handle is unbranded, but it is an LH handle.The shorter 12” carver handle gives this hatchet a fast, controlled, highly usable feel. It is compact enough for a truck axe, camp axe, survival axe, carving tool, pack axe, or shop tool, while still having enough head weight to do real work. The profile is excellent and the edge is nearly razor sharp.Handle has been pretreated with boiled linseed oil and has a warm, clean finish. The head shows honest vintage age, patina, spotting, dark finish wear, pitting, and use throughout. Briar Edge Service Tools stamp remains visible. Features a hatchet blade, hammer poll, and nail-puller notch.This is a serious little rehung working tool with a lot of character.
