Up for sale is a rare, vintage mid-century sand-cast aluminum plaque from the Bristol Amateur Radio Club, Inc. (BARC). This club famously serves the twin border cities of Bristol, Virginia, and Bristol, Tennessee.
This substantial plaque features an hourglass/antenna-tower shape with highly detailed, raised high-relief elements. The top displays the club name alongside stylized lightning bolt radio waves, while the bottom showcases the classic "shaking hands" motif over the state lines of Virginia and Tennessee.
Specifications:
- Material: Heavy sand-cast aluminum
- Dimensions: Measures approximately 10” Tall x 7-3/4” Wide x 1/4” Thick
- Mounting: Features original integrated mounting screw holes
Condition:
This piece is in 100% original, unaltered vintage condition. The cast aluminum body is completely solid with no cracks or structural breaks. The original painted background sections show heavy, authentic age-crazing, paint chipping, and fading (as pictured), giving it a fantastic, unpolished historical look.
