For sale is a vintage Brown and Sharpe catalog #7032 BesTest .0001\" resolution dial indicator set complete with attachments and fitted case. Also included is a separate Brown and Sharpe #599-7055 universal test indicator clamp. This set is of the highest quality and will complement any tool collection for everyday machinist/toolmaking use, or the hobby machinist, or the collector. It was part of a toolmaker\'s personal collection and is sold ready to use. Items have been oiled where needed and carefully packed to ensure safe shipment.

This dial indicator set is of early 1970\'s vintage featuring a 1\" dial, jeweled bearing, lever type auto reversing action. It is extremely accurate with .0001\" resolution graduated dial with each .001\" marked in a 0-4-0 configuration. It has dovetail mounts on the top, front, and back sides. Accessories include bar, swivel, and snug mounting hardware for endless mounting options. Four tips are included: .120\", .080\", .040\", and .015\". Tip wrenches are also included.
Indicator and attachments are all in very good condition and cared for in appearance. The indicator operates very smoothly throughout its range with no binding or sticking. The crystal and dial face are in excellent condition with no yellowing or scratch marks visible. There are initials discretely engraved on one side (left) next to a serial number. There are some scuff marks on the opposite side (right) but they are light and don\'t penetrate the chrome coating. The case has staining on the bottom from contact with some material, but the leatherette is still intact- see photos.
A separate Brown and Sharpe 599-#7055 indicator swivel clamp is included as well. This item is very handy to have and provides even more mounting options for this indicator. It features a dovetail snug for the indicator as well as a 3/8\" mounting hole and v-side hole for mounting to posts from 1/8\"-1/4\" diameter. It is in very good condition showing little wear. It has initials engraved in both sides of the snug portion- see photos for details.
