Charming vintage pair of hand-painted ceramic “Ma” and “Pa” mugs from Buffalo National River in Arkansas.
Each mug features a whimsical hand-painted profile of Ma or Pa smoking a pipe, along with “Buffalo National River” lettering. The matching pair has a wonderful old Arkansas souvenir / folk pottery character and appears to have been individually painted rather than decorated with transfers.
Both mugs remain in good vintage condition with no major cracks, breaks, or repairs observed. They do show age-related wear consistent with older pottery. The Pa mug has somewhat more wear than the Ma mug, including small areas of rim/glaze wear and minor surface blemishes. The Ma mug is the cleaner of the two. Bottoms show normal shelf and age wear.
A particularly fun Arkansas collectible for someone who loves the Buffalo National River, Ozark memorabilia, vintage souvenir pottery, or unusual regional folk art.
