A simple, beautifully graphic piece of vintage Asian decor crafted from natural bamboo.
This traditional-style bamboo brush pot features the natural grain and nodes of the bamboo accented by expressive black ink decoration — a painted bamboo branch on one side and calligraphic characters on the reverse.
Originally designed in the tradition of Chinese scholar\'s brush pots used to hold calligraphy brushes, today it works equally well as a pencil or brush holder, small decorative vessel, or sculptural accent.
The warm natural bamboo, minimal form and bold black brushwork give it a particularly clean, modern presence.
Condition:Good vintage condition with age-appropriate surface wear and natural variation to the bamboo. There is a visible vertical split near the lower portion of the bamboo, shown clearly in the photographs. Please review all photos for condition.
