Up for sale is a captivating and remarkably detailed original Real Photo Postcard documenting an authentic domestic Christmas morning in 1914. The crisp interior photograph features a young boy and girl standing barefoot in their winter nightgowns beside a fully adorned Christmas tree, looking up at the ornaments.
The image is a treasure trove of early 20th-century holiday history, showcasing a wealth of period gifts and toys hung directly from the branches or set up below. Visible items include a children's book titled "In Cloudland" featuring an early airplane on the cover, a "Jingle Book" style volume, a miniature toy tea set neatly arranged on a small doll table, a beautifully crafted wooden rocking doll cradle with soft bedding, a framed nursery print or toy box lid showing animals and a carriage, and an unusual full-body Pierrot or clown doll serving as the tree topper next to an early hanging electric light bulb.
The reverse features a divided back with an AZO stamp box (four triangles pointing up), correctly dating the piece to the 1904–1918 era. A wonderful addition for collectors of holiday social history, antique toys, or early photographic ephemera.
