Age : This Christmas metal box # 804 dates back to mid 1950's....Stylecraft. Designed to keep Christmas Addresses on index cards and keep track of mailing dates. Please do your own research if every detail is important. I just bought something I adored many years ago and am ready to pass along to another collector.
Item Listed : 1950's Era. Christmas. Metal box with green interior. Whimsical and gay images. Includes a just a few of the original index cards that are unused leftovers. The dividers are long gone. I'm sure you can find some of the exact index cards and dividers if you watch for them on in the event you want more. Metal box has 4 green felt pads on the bottom to preserve condition on the bottom. This box came with the green felt pads.
Size : Small metal box. SMALL. See photo with ruler.
Lid : Lid makes a pop sound when you open on 1 side. From the box / metal being closed / in the same position for many years. Decades. I bought it just as it is a long time ago because I don't open and close alot. The lid is definately functioning and stays in perfect alignment. The lid is hanging in there and well attached. It will make a metal pop sound every time you open......If the pop metal sound concerns you, please don't purchase.
Graphics : These are the best and boldest graphics of any Christmas box I had in my collection. The graphics are very bold.
Interior : Dark green. Clean.
Condition : Preowned and cared for vintage metal box used for Christmas display off and on for years. Kept with care. Clean. No rust. No odor. No fragrance. Images are bold and vivid. Interior is clean. Most age can be seen on the bottom of box but still very nice. All info. is easy to read on the bottom. Never ever use a solvent to clean. Just wipe off fingerprints immediately with a very soft cotton cloth. Avoid people handling to preserve. Keep dry. Put away dry. This box has been out of circulation for 17 to 20 years. I had several metal boxes at one time and am now down to my last 2 Christmas boxes. This is box B. ( At listing time.......I have same box, same condition with a white interior. They are both fantastic little by gone era boxes. ) Please expect to see minor signs of handling / age upon close inspection. I am not the original owner.
