Here atGet M1 For The Road™, we\'re big fans of ALL things M1 helmet related! Lately we\'ve found ourselves with too many M1 items and not enough free space, so it\'s time to thin the herd a bit. Our loss is your gain! Up for grabs - right here, right now, right away -is anM1 shell from the mid-1960\'s (Vietnam War Era)and a newer liner.Further details are listed below:Intelligence Brief:This helmet is complete, but it\'s been through a lot. It\'s seen some action, no doubt.I\'ve had the liner (hardhat) and shell (lid) for a while,but I\'m running out of room in my \"M1 Collection Section\", so I need to find them a new home.I\'m selling the liner & lid together, but I\'m pretty sure that I bought them separately many years ago.This helmet is in good shape and there is nothing torn or broken off (like the webbing, rim, or loops/bails). It\'s \"been there\", so please look carefully at all of the photos before you even THINK about buying - I don\'t doreturns.Without further ado, here are all of theparticulars:----DETAILED REPORT----Liner SitRep: This one is a yellow-green nylon version of the P73 model and is in pretty good overall condition. There\'s a stamp in the crown which shows the CMP logo, but it\'s SUPER faint. The ink stamp indicates that it was make in (fiscal year) 1984 by SPP, which bought out CMP in \'81. The date on the suspension is \'83 as is the headband. The nape strap is from \'85 and I added it (for free) as it didn\'t have one when I bought it.The biggest flaws of the liner are: 1) The paint is pretty good, but it has some scuffs and wear.2) The suspension clips and other metal parts have some corrosion/patina (but not much). 3) The leather on the band shows some wear from use and there are two things written on it: \"Peterson\" and \"2-3\".All this aside, this liner\'s in pretty good shape for the shape it\'s in. (Please view ALL of the pics to see what I mean.)Shell SitRep:This one was made by Ingersoll Products between 1965 & \'68. The heat stamp reads \"I 5664\" and it\'s easy to spot. The shell has some issues but is in good shape overall. It was sandblasted and repainted at some point. Most likely at a supply depot as the shade of green is \"wrong\" and there was no sand (for texture) added to it. There are some dents to the top, some paint flaking, a hint of rust, and the bails (chin strap loops) are a little bent. Speaking of chin straps... there aren\'t any. Sorry about that, but this is how I bought it many moons ago.As I mentioned before, this guy\'s been through a lot. I can\'t say for certain that it saw action in Vietnam (or anywhere else for that matter), but it definitely COULD have.REQUISITIONED SUPPLIES:As I also mentioned before, the nape strap is free as I HATE selling liners that are incomplete. Years ago, I bought a large number of napes for crazy-cheap, so giving out a free one on occasion isn\'t going to bankrupt me. Enjoy!
