How one knows this is from 1959: 1) The original pots did not have chrome spouts, 2) the starburst pattern was done in a shiny platinum enamel. Both are true in this item for sale. Corning changed the spouts to chrome in 1960 and afterwards. And the starburst pattern became black in color. Thus, if one finds a coffee maker with a chrome spout, it technically should be called a Black Starburst.
Note: There is a small chip of paint and finish missing on the spout/front side of the body - about 1/8" dia. Zoom in to see it on that picture. Otherwise, no flaws to be found. Very clean. Some very minor normal wear on outside bottom of pot where it touches the resting surface. An amazing shiny piece for its 67 years of existence!No original packaging with this item for sale
