Nice lot of two traditional vintage-style woodworking layout/marking tools featuring hardwood, brass and steel Crown Tools – Sheffield, England marking/mortise gauge with rosewood-type hardwood body and brass fittings. Adjustable sliding head with brass locking screw and marking point/cutter.
* Large adjustable sliding bevel / bevel gauge with hardwood stock, brass fittings and long slotted steel blade. Blade is approximately 11” long based on measurement shown in photos.
Both pieces show normal signs of age and previous use, including scratches, marks, patina/tarnish to the brass and some oxidation/discoloration on the steel blade. The wood has an attractive dark finish and both tools display nicely.
Adjustment and locking mechanisms appear functional. These have not been checked for precision or accuracy and are being sold as vintage woodworking tools.
