Origin and History:
This vintage Dunhill lighter (likely from the 1970s) belonged to my late father. I do not know when or where he acquired it; it has simply been in our possession for a long time. It had been stored in a desk drawer for quite a while (several months). When I took it out and spun the flint wheel, it lit up. I do not know how much fuel remains, nor the condition of the flint. I am selling this as part of an estate liquidation. My father had a large collection of over 200 lighters. I am not an expert or a specialist; I do not know how to refill it or what specific fuel should be used. I can only offer my personal assessment of its appearance (in my view, it is a beautiful lighter, though others may have a different opinion).
Appearance:
• Signs of wear: There are minor scratches, light scuffs, and general signs of age, use, and long-term storage.
• Patina: Patina is present in some areas. I have wiped the lighter’s casing with a damp alcohol wipe.
• Interior: Traces of carbon buildup/soot from previous use are visible beneath the lid.
Technical Condition (please review carefully):
• Lid: Opens and closes. • Spark wheel: rotates to produce a spark.
• Spark: a spark is generated when the wheel is turned.
• Testing: the lighter currently ignites (even though it has been sitting unused in a desk drawer for several months). I do not know how much fuel remains inside.
• Internal components: I am neither a collector nor a repair specialist. I have no information regarding the maintenance history of this item over the last 50 years. I cannot guarantee that any internal parts have not been repaired or replaced.
