Beautiful pair of vintage Ethiopian wooden headrests, traditionally used as neck rests and to protect elaborate hairstyles while sleeping. Hand-carved from solid wood with deep curved tops, conical pedestal bases, concentric bands and geometric zigzag decoration. Likely Oromo/Sidamo region of Ethiopia. Rich dark patina and excellent sculptural character. Sold as a pair. Great for African art, ethnographic or tribal-art collectors.
