Vintage Eversharp Skyline fountain pen in the beautiful gray striated / moire finish.
This is a particularly attractive example cosmetically and has already been substantially cleaned in preparation for restoration. I ultimately decided to pass it along rather than complete the restoration myself.
The pen has its original 14K Eversharp nib. The nib has an unusual small mark immediately adjacent to the slit. It appears to be a superficial manufacturing or tooling mark rather than a crack; it does not extend through the nib and did not affect writing when the pen was used.
Condition notes:
- Gray striated/moire material presents very nicely overall
- Small crack in the barrel at the cap-thread area, cap still screws on nicely
- Some brassing/plating wear on the filling lever
- Small superficial mark adjacent to the nib slit; **not a nib crack**
- Otherwise very nice cosmetic condition for its age
- Pen has been cleaned and new sac installed but has not been fully restored due to the barrel crack
- Sold as a vintage restoration project
I have not attempted to repair the barrel crack, as I did not want to risk making it worse or complicating a future professional repair.
Because this is a vintage pen requiring restoration, I am selling it as-is and recommend reviewing all photographs carefully, particularly the barrel threads and nib.
A beautiful example of one of the more distinctive Eversharp Skyline finishes and a great candidate for restoration or a vintage pen collection.
