The private banking firm Uno Björklund & Co Pankkiirikommandiittiyhtiö was established in Helsinki in 1925 by Uno Björklund (1879–1941), a prominent Finnish lawyer, banker, and consul. Björklund was a titan of early 20th-century Finnish commerce, notably serving as the chairman and majority owner of Vaasan Puuvilla Oy (Vaasa Cotton Mill) and holding influential board seats at Suomen Sokeri (Finnish Sugar Company) and Kymi.
