Up for sale is a beautiful, vintage real taxidermy butterfly collection housed in a unique double-sided glass wood frame.
Because the frame features clear glass on both the front and back, you can seamlessly view both the vibrant dorsal (top) patterns and the intricate ventral (underside) camouflage patterns of these incredible insects.
The collection is highlighted by a spectacular, large Blue Morpho centerpiece. When flipped over, you can see its stunning "Owl Butterfly" underside, complete with striking predator-mimicking eyespots. The collection also includes a highly sought-after "88" Butterfly (Diaethria), recognizable by the perfect natural number pattern on its lower wings, alongside various other vibrant tropical species.

Condition Details:This piece is in very good vintage/pre-owned condition. The wood frame shows minor, authentic cosmetic wear along the edges consistent with age (please see photos for a faded original manufacturer's stamp on the wood border). The glass panes are clean and intact. The butterfly specimens themselves are beautifully preserved, intact, and securely mounted with excellent color retention. The bottom right butterfly does have some dust inside the glass. There is a glue line on the backside top that is visible from the back. See all photos.
