Francis Marion was established as an independent state college in 1970 and operated under the Francis Marion College name before becoming Francis Marion University in 1992. The underside of the mug is impressed “U.S.A.”
This example is in exceptionally nice vintage condition and presents as nearly new in person. The ceramic remains clean and glossy with crisp blue graphics and an exceptionally clean interior. There is only very minor age-related wear to the metallic trim, as shown in the photographs. I see no chips or cracks.
A particularly nice piece of older Francis Marion memorabilia for an alumnus, former faculty or staff member, collector, or anyone with a connection to the college.
