Vintage French Mathias Ceramic Cactus Table Lamp – 1970s/80s. Fully working and PAT tested

A wonderfully unusual vintage French ceramic table lamp by Mathias / Création Mathias, dating from approximately the 1970s/1980s.
The lamp has a fantastic sculptural cactus design with two raised arms and a ribbed trunk, finished in a rich glossy mustard-orange/yellow glaze. A great piece of French retro design with a distinctly 1970s Pop/Space Age feel.
The original-style bulb holder retains its MATHIAS label, marked Ref. S.1295, E14, 230V, providing particularly useful identification of the maker. The ceramic itself is unmarked underneath, which appears consistent with other Mathias lamps where the manufacturer’s label was applied to the lamp fitting.
Condition: Vintage condition with age-related wear. Please study all photographs carefully as these form an important part of the description. The electrical cable, plug and fittings appear to have some age and I would recommend having the lamp checked by a qualified electrician before use.
Shade and bulb are not included.
