Up for sale is a beautiful vintage French porcelain figural trinket box meticulously shaped like a mandolin (or lute). This elegant piece features a soft, pale mint/turquoise and white glaze base adorned with vibrant, hand-painted polychrome floral bouquets framed by fine gilt detailing.
The box is fitted with a decorative brass-toned metal rim, secure barrel hinge, and a floral-rosette thumbpiece clasp. It comes complete with its delicate decorative safety chain still attached to the instrument\'s neck.
Markings: The underside is distinctly signed in blue underglaze with a Sevres-style interlaced \"L\" cipher, alongside the clear English export marking \"FRANCE HAND PAINTED.\"
