The lid depicts a historic European market square/city scene surrounded by ornate gold scrollwork, colorful florals and heraldic crests. The sides feature medieval-style scenes with knights, horses, wagons and travelers.This style of collectible tin was made for Lebkuchen (German gingerbread).
