Vintage Guerlain Sous Le Vent \"Tonnelet Bottle\" 9 cm 60ML c30s-50s — Sold As Is For Sale

Offered here is a vintage Guerlain Sous Le Vent “Tonnelet” perfume bottle, an exceptionally attractive and increasingly difficult-to-find early Guerlain presentation.

The bottle is the distinctive barrel-shaped (“tonnelet”) clear glass flacon, with the characteristic gold decoration and GUERLAIN / SOUS LE VENT lettering around the shoulders and center of the bottle. Based on the style and construction, I believe this bottle dates approximately to the 1930s–1950s, although I cannot guarantee an exact production date.

This bottle is being sold strictly AS IS and is priced accordingly.

The principal condition issue is the glass stopper. The original stopper has been damaged/broken at the neck and a previous attempt was made to reattach it with adhesive. The repair was not successful, and the stopper has subsequently been secured with clear grafting tape. The repair is plainly visible in the photographs.

Please examine all photographs carefully, particularly the close-up images of the stopper and neck, before purchasing. I am selling the bottle in its present condition and am not representing the stopper as intact, professionally restored, or fully functional.

The bottle itself has the expected signs of age and handling associated with a vintage glass perfume flacon, including some wear to the gold decoration. Please consider the photographs part of the condition description.

Despite the condition of the stopper, this is a particularly appealing early Guerlain Sous Le Vent presentation, and the tonnelet form makes it an interesting piece for a collection of historic Guerlain bottles. It would also make an attractive display piece for someone interested in the history of Guerlain packaging and perfume bottles.
