This is an original antique to vintage A LA CARTE MENU for the Hotel Saddle Rock Cafe in Trinidad Colo. Colorado. It measures 6” x 9 3/4” , green and gold highlights, has a pressed wood grain with metal corners. Center of the cover has an oval vignette featuring a pine tree and mountain background. Underneath is embossed BONDED MENU CO. There are Trinidad Colorado advertisements for: Stromberg’s, CENTURY BEER, SOCOLO GASOLINE, Union Lumber, NUCKOLLS PKG. CO, Modernistic Ice Cream, PROSSER’S PRODUCTS, Corradino Sheet Metal, Troy Laundry, LEO R. GOTTLIEB, SINCLAIR OIL AND GAS and TRINIDAD BATTERY. Contains a full meal menu including wine and a selection of beers that include: Draught-Stein, Schneider Century Beer (Trinidad), Blue Ribbon, Budweiser, Blatz, Country Club, Coor’s Golden, Walter’s Gold Label (Pueblo) and Tivoli (Denver). At base of “foil” inside plates is printed: BONDED COVER CO. AFFILIATED FACTORY: 1840 STOUT STREET. DENVER LEADING MFRS MENUE COVERS SINCE 1899.
This is a very cool old vintage menu with period prices. I THINK this is immediately post prohibition in the 1930’s judging from the prices.
Condition is good, as seen in photos. There is the typical wear from age and use visible in photos. There is the seen ‘waviness’ to pages that may have been caused by moisture, but there isn’t any visible staining. Could possibly be caused by shrinkage of the binding. I believe the seen ‘half’ page may have been for business cards.
