Vintage three-piece hand-etched brass vanity set, made in India.• Handled cup - wide body with a flat D-shaped handle and a pedestal foot; the exterior is decorated with a band of etched scrolling vine and leaf motifs completed with fine punched-dot fields, above a lower band of engraved leaves. The interior is hand-hammered with a visible dimpled texture.
• Footed bowl - small round bowl on a pedestal foot, the exterior etched with repeating leaf forms; the interior is hand-hammered and centered with a small raised boss.
• Lidded box - round box with a fitted domed lid, embossed with a large multi-petal lotus-style blossom over a dense stippled ground, the lid rim finished with an etched chevron border; smooth straight-sided base.Condition: honest vintage condition. All three pieces carry a heavy, dark aged patina and tarnish, with the brighter golden brass showing through the etched lines. The cup and bowl show wear and darkening to their interiors (the earlier plating has worn through in areas); the box has a large dark scuff/sticker residue at the base, with tarnish heaviest in the recesses of the lid. No major dents and all pieces are structurally sound. A \"MADE IN INDIA\" sticker is present on the base of the box.
