Up for sale is an authentic vintage 5-piece Russian Matryoshka nesting doll set. This matching set features the highly sought after traditional style iconic to the historic artisan workshops of Sergiev Posad.
It is hand-painted with expressive facial features, vibrant blue eyes, and rosy cheeks. The floral details and lacework are meticulously detailed using a wood-burning technique (pyrography), giving the patterns unique texture and depth. Elegant metallic gold accents finish the coverings.
The base of the largest doll is clearly etched with 5M, authenticating it as an official factory/studio-produced 5-piece medium-sized set. It is in excellent vintage pre-owned condition. The wood is sturdy, the paint and gold details remain crisp and vibrant, and all the dolls nest together perfectly.
