Vintage Hard To Find Lodge No 9 Economy Series Cast Iron Dutch Oven Restored For Sale

This is an example of an hard to find Lodge No. 9 Dutch oven. This item dates to sometime to the 1940s and is in fully restored condition. There is a hairline crack that was discovered during cleaning. This will not effect the performance of the oven and it will still perform for many more decades. The cooking surface has some shallow pitting from corrosion and is still smooth to the touch.Three sheets of printer paper slipped under one side of the pot stops movement on a polished granite surface. No chips, cracks or repairs and does not spin.

Test for flatness of item. With the item resting on a polished granite surface, press down all along the top rim searching for movement. If movement is found, slip pieces of printer paper under one edge of the until item stops moving.

This item was stripped down to bare metal using collector approved lye bath and electrolysis treatments. This process ensures the removal of all residue from previous use making it safe to use once more. The item is lightly seasoned with one round of Crisco at 450 for 1 hour. This item was photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lighting conditions, items may take on a brown color. Items are much darker under normal light.
