Up for sale is a rare piece of historic California hotel memorabilia! This heavy, vintage service plate comes from the legendary Hotel del Coronado on Coronado Island in San Diego. It features the beautifully embossed custom crown crest from the historic Coronet Room—originally constructed in 1888 as the resort's very first dining hall.
This custom commemorative piece was manufactured for the hotel by Minalloy N.Y.C. (a premium commercial food service division of Minner’s & Co. Inc.) during the 1970s. While it is crafted from a high-durability cast aluminum alloy designed to beautifully mimic the deep, non-reflective patina of antique pewter, it is completely lead-free and structurally solid.
