Vintage porcelain hotel ashtray from the prestigious five-star Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I in Barcelona, Spain. This elegant white glazed piece features the hotel’s distinctive cobalt blue crowned monogram, five-star insignia, and G.L. designation representing its Gran Lujo (Grand Luxury) classification.
The Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I opened in 1992, the year Barcelona hosted the Olympic Games, and became one of the city’s landmark luxury hotels. The property was later rebranded and reopened as Torre Melina Gran Meliá in 2024, making this an interesting piece of collectible memorabilia from the hotel’s original identity.
A wonderful find for collectors of luxury hotel memorabilia, vintage advertising ashtrays, Spanish travel souvenirs, or Barcelona Olympic-era history. Its classic white porcelain and cobalt blue design also make it suitable as a decorative catchall for coins, jewelry, or small accessories.
