Up for sale is an authentic vintage Japanese Nanbu Tekki cast iron desk calligraphy set / inkstone stand (硯 / 墨池), made by the world-famous artisan foundry Iwachu (岩鋳) in Morioka, Iwate Prefecture.
This piece features the official Iwachu square seal stamped on the underside, guaranteeing its authenticity and premium craftsman heritage. The set consists of a footed base tray, a removable rectangular inkwell dish insert, and an elegantly detailed removable lid embossed with a chrysanthemum (Kiku) motif.
Includes its original top display box featuring the traditional red-stamped Nanbu Tekki label.
