Antique / Vintage Indian Brass Elephant Temple Chariot Cart
Beautiful and unusual brass folk-art piece depicting an elephant pulling an ornate covered temple cart or chariot. The cart features a decorative canopy topped with a bird finial, hand-worked detailing, rolling wheels, and small hanging bells on the elephant.
One of the most interesting features is its articulated construction. The elephant and cart move independently, and the elephant section has some side-to-side and up-and-down movement. All wheels roll freely and the bells are intact.
The naturally aged brass surface has developed a rich patina that gives the piece wonderful character.
