Offered is a vintage mid century ceramic Majolica box originally manufactured as a cigarette box circa 1955. It is suitable as a trinket box or a container for playing cards or,perhaps for note paper, which was my thought when I purchased it. It makes a great desk accessory!
It is a classic style from Deruto, Umbria, Italy. It is hand painted majolica tin glazed earthenware.
Marking from the bottom is P.V Italy 00735 or 06735? See photos.
Actual white is very white. Color is distorted in some of the photos.
First photo shows well.
The box is in very good or better vintage condition with a very small flake off the bottom. See photos.
