This gorgeous piece of artwork has attached to the back an authentic provenance certificate showing it is a vintage Japanese 3D porcelain ceramic relief plaque. It was commissioned in 1978 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Matsushita Electric, which later became Panasonic. Each element of porcelain was entirely handmade, colored and glazed and captures delicate pink and white cherry blossoms that have been individually sculpted showing three-dimensional porcelain flower petals and leaves attached to a solid textured cobalt blue ceramic background. The plaque is bordered by a traditional style matting celebrating the 60th anniversary of Matsushita which is then surrounded by navy blue mat. The piece is framed inside a deep shadow box style wood frame.
The outer frame measures 16.5"x17.5"
The mounted porcelain piece mounted inside measures 5.5"x7.5"
The gold matting area around the porcelain art is approx 9.5"x10.5"
Please notice the last 3 pics that show blemishes typical of a piece from 1978. The interior secondary gold frame shows minor rubbing on the corners from being against the glass. The outer wood frame shows a few blemishes as well.
The porcelain art piece remains absolutely beautiful with no flaws or chips or cracks found. Please note, the piece was not taken apart to inspect beyond the naked eye.
