Vintage Japanese Glazed Ceramic Monkey Figural Lamp – Attributed to Reiho / Katsushi Kataoka – Tokoname
Striking vintage glazed ceramic figural piece depicting a seated monkey holding a pink peach or fruit, surrounded by large turquoise-green leaves. The sculpture features expressive modeling, detailed fur and facial features, and a beautiful combination of brown, turquoise, green, and pink glazes.
The underside bears an impressed rectangular seal mark. Based on comparison with documented Japanese pottery marks, this piece is attributed to Reiho (黎鳳), the pottery name of Japanese ceramic artist Katsushi Kataoka (片岡勝資), associated with Tokoname pottery and Seizan Toen (誠山陶園).

It is also possible that this ceramic piece was originally produced as a decorative sculpture and was later converted into a table lamp. The electrical hardware and/or wiring may have been added or replaced at a later date.
The lamp has been tested and is in working condition.
For safer shipping, the lamp socket will be left slightly loosened/unscrewed, but will not be completely removed. The buyer will need to carefully tighten and position the socket after delivery.
