This listing is for a set of 2 vintage Japanese wooden rice paddles (Shamoji) associated with Konpira-san (Kotohira-gu Shrine / 金刀比羅宮) in Kagawa Prefecture, Japan.
These items are unused vintage shop stock that was originally displayed and sold at a shop located along the approach to Kotohira-gu Shrine (Konpira-san).
Kotohira-gu is a historic Japanese Shinto shrine widely known in Japan by its familiar name “Konpira-san.” For generations, the shrine and its approach have attracted visitors and pilgrims, and various traditional souvenirs and good-luck items have been sold in the surrounding area.
These wooden rice paddles were displayed and offered for sale to visitors at a shop along the shrine approach as traditional Japanese good-luck and good-fortune items.
The wooden paddles feature traditional Japanese designs and inscriptions, including “Kaiun” (開運), a Japanese expression associated with bringing good fortune and better luck.

These items are unused vintage shop stock.
They were originally displayed for sale at a shop along the approach to Kotohira-gu Shrine (Konpira-san) and have been stored for many years.
Due to age, long-term storage and previous display, there may be discoloration, stains, scratches, marks and other signs of aging on the wooden paddles.
The original plastic packaging also shows considerable age, wrinkles, tears, dirt, discoloration and deterioration.
An old Japanese price sticker remains on the packaging.
Please do not expect the condition of newly manufactured items.
