Vintage Korean decorative hand mirror featuring the traditional Sib-i-ji (십이지), the Korean system of 12 zodiac animals.
The decorative reverse of the mirror features the zodiac animal imagery arranged around the design, while the handle is finished with a traditional-style hanging tassel.
This example is especially nice for collectors because it retains its original presentation box and informational insert. The insert identifies the design as “Sib-i-ji” and explains the symbolic animal characters used in traditional Korean culture.
A beautiful Korean cultural souvenir/display piece that can also be used as a hand mirror.
