- Vintage Large Wooden Darning Egg -
This "darning egg" looks suspiciously like an old kitchen mashing tool..however you can clearly see that whoever owned it, put quite a few needle marks in it! It dates back to the 1930s, whether used for repairing small holes and mending garments or mashing grains and potatoes...It is large and made out of sturdy wood with a metal eye to hang it from. Age related wear as it was used quite a bit, needle marks, and wear to the finish are present as shown in the photos.
Measuring approximately 10.5" long, the width of the "egg" or "masher" being 2.5" across.
Most items I sell are vintage items that have been well loved and worn. I try my best to describe any flaws there might be and show details in the photos.
