Up for sale is a beautiful and highly collectible Metropolitan Museum of Art (MMA) 1986 collector plate titled "Cat and Spider" by Japanese artist Toko.
Crafted in France out of premium Porcelaine de Limoges by Philippe Deshouliers, this 7.5-inch round plate features a gorgeous, detailed depiction of a tortoiseshell cat dressed in a decorative kimono observing a small spider. The design is faithfully adapted from a traditional Meiji-period (1868–1911) painting on silk.
It features a beautiful, clean finish with a classic gold-gilded rim.
