For your consideration is a beautiful vintage majolica-style covered sugar bowl (or small condiment tureen). This piece features striking, low-relief molding of light powder-blue chrysanthemum flowers with prominent, high-dome raised amber centers, structural accent buds, and trailing green foliage. The vibrant botanical details pop brilliantly against a textured, high-gloss dark cobalt navy background.
The upper rim is styled with a heavy, multi-toned twisted rope trim framing the wide mouth. It comes complete with its matching amber-caramel glazed lid, which features a convenient built-in spoon notch/ladle slot and a heavy looped ring handle.

* BRAND/MARKINGS: The smooth cream earthenware base ring is entirely unmarked. There are no stamps, incised numbers, or country-of-origin marks present.
* GLAZE CHARACTERISTICS: The interior clear glaze of both the bowl and lid exhibits extensive, authentic glaze craquelure/crazing. The caramello glaze on the underside of the lid displays beautiful, non-uniform pooling near the outer lip lip from the firing process.
* STEAM VENT: The underside center of the lid features a small, functional built-in steam vent hole from the mold process.
