Vintage Mexican Folk Art Tile Ysauro Uriarte Talavera Puebla Mexico #2
Artes Folklorico presents a vintage Mexican folk art tile by the celebrated Uriarte Talavera studio in Puebla, Mexico. The tile most likely dates to the 1910s-30s. There are spectacular glazes featured throughout. The artwork depicts a man wearing a poncho and a sombrero hat. There is a cactus in the foreground and mountains, birds, and billowing clouds in the background. There is a wonderful cobalt blue border. The tile is signed in the lower-left corner by Ysauro Uriarte with the “YU” moniker and the name, “Uriarte.” The tile measures 5-3/4 inches in height, 5-3/4 inches in width, and 3/8-inches in depth.
