Vintage PEXTO Chisel Round Back Half Oval Dovetail 7/8 inch Refurbished USAThis beautiful PEXTO 7/8\" round back chisel features a rounded back designed for cleaning out sharply-angled dovetails where a standard bevel chisel can\'t reach. The iron is 7 1/8 inches long. The total lengths 11 1/2 inches. The handled has been refinished and rubbed with wax. The iron has been cleaned of rust while maintaining as much as the patina as possible and then oiled. The edge has been sharped and stropped to arm-hair-cutting sharp.
Pextosocket chisels were produced by the American manufacturer Peck, Stow, & Wilcoxinthe late 19th and early 20th centuries.They were noted for theircomfortable handles,excellent balance, and ability to hold a sharp edge.
