This piece features traditional formline totemic face designs meticulously painted in classic black and dark red pigments on all four sides.Authentic Traditional Construction & Materials:
Unlike modern souvenir pieces made from separate flat panels, this box is crafted using the traditionalkerfed and steam-bent method. It was made from asingle plank of dense, old-growth cedar woodwith exceptionally tight grain lines that wrap seamlessly around the corners. The board was grooved, steamed, and bent into shape, leaving only one vertical corner seam secured by a reinforcing wooden peg/dowel near the rim. It is topped with a heavy, well-fitted wooden lid.Dimensions:

• Artisan Orientation Mark:Features a hand-carved cross/plus symbol incised onto the inner lid flange alongside a historic touch of vintage wood putty at the corner intersection. This alignment mark indicates exactly how to rotate the lid to ensure a flush, snug fit.
• Inventory Sticker:The underside of the base retains a small historic dealer or collection inventory sticker reading "NWC INDIAN BOX 94".
• Artist Signature:Unsigned.
