Vintage pair of 1970s Mexican souvenir matchbox holders / covers.
Made of teal plastic with speckled crushed stone / abalone resin top with carved Aztec / Mayan designs and gold paint highlights.
• One reads "MEXICO" in wavy psychedelic font (green base)
• One has Mayan deity / warrior with headdress (blue base)
• Both hold a standard small matchbox - slides in from bottom
Size: Approx. 1.75" x 1.25" x 1" tall - holds 1.5" matchbox (see ruler)
Condition: Good vintage. Some wear to gold paint, resin has normal age patina. Bases have light scuffs. No cracks. Both functional.
Great for bar cart, tiki bar, man cave, boho shelf, or 70s kitsch collection. These are the harder-to-find crushed stone type, not just plastic.
