Up for sale is a stunning, authentic mid-century Persian decorative wall plate crafted in the traditional Ghalamzani metalworking style of Isfahan. This intricate piece features exceptional hand-chased and engraved detailing with a striking black, ash-contrasted background that beautifully highlights the metalwork.
Design Elements:
The plate depicts a historical scene inspired by the ancient stone reliefs of Persepolis. It features a Persian king (representing Darius the Great) seated on his throne, surrounded by royal court attendants. Hovering directly above the throne is the powerful Faravahar (Farohar) symbol, the ancient Zoroastrian emblem representing the guardian spirit and good thoughts, words, and deeds. The central scene is framed by an elegant, continuous interlocking woven border.
Authenticity & Craftsmanship:
Unlike modern mass-produced or factory-stamped souvenir replicas, this plate is entirely hand-wrought. The reverse side clearly displays the hand-tooling indentations, textures, and hammer marks from the artisan's manual repoussé work. It includes a built-in, factory-soldered hanging loop at the top center, making it completely ready to mount on your wall.
