Beautiful Boehm “Blue Jays” limited-edition porcelain sculpture, model #466, featuring an adult blue jay perched above two young birds in a naturalistic woodland setting. This is a larger version of "Blue Jay 40324," adding 2 baby birds at the base of a large branch waiting to be fed a berry. It is about 12" tall x 12" deep x 10.5" wide.
The adult leans toward the fledglings with a small red-and-green detail at its beak. Below, one youngster looks upward with its beak open and wings partially extended, while the other rests on a lower branch. Their expressive poses create a charming family scene.
Rich blue plumage, contrasting black-and-white markings, and softly shaded gray and cream coloring highlight the birds’ finely sculpted feathers. The branching tree has textured bark, knots, and weathered wood details, rising from a contoured green base with an ivory-colored edge. The sculpture has a matte finish.
This is a SUBSTANTIAL, LARGE piece with fragile outer parts - because of this, shipping will be more costly than a typical figurine! The price of shipping also includes extended insurance to cover the full purchase price.
