Vintage 1980s Severed Head Prop – Theatrical Carnival Illusion Oddity
Item Description:
Up for sale is a wonderfully creepy vintage 1970s theatrical "severed head" illusion prop. Originally designed for carnival sideshows, magic acts, or haunted house attractions, this piece features an unsettlingly stylized face with piercing blue inset eyes, applied faux-hair eyebrows, and a wide-mouthed grin showcasing molded teeth.
The head is constructed of thick, rigid vintage rubber/latex. Flip it over to reveal its classic theatrical design: the bottom is painted raw red to simulate a severed neck, built around a heavy internal tube meant for mounting onto a dummy torso, a magician's illusion apparatus, or a display stake.
Perfect for collectors of vintage Halloween memorabilia, carnival history, theatrical props, or macabre oddities and curiosity displays.
Condition:
Good vintage condition with fantastic natural aging. The rubber remains structurally rigid and solid. Features surface scuffs, light discoloration, and a distressed patina from decades of storage and use, which only adds to its eerie, authentic look. No major structural splits or cave-ins. Please review all photos carefully to assess condition details.
