Vintage STEWART'S ROOT BEER SIGN Stout Co. Metal Sign 17” X 18” 1995 EX COND: $89.95
This item is aStewart's Root Beer promotional sign featuring the slogan "Taste the Legend" and referencing their history "Since 1924". It is in great condition and would look great in any man cave, garage or sign collection!! It is not perfect, but as I said in excellent shape, please see all pictures as this is what you will receive. The connection to Cable Car Beverage Corporation in 1995 stems from the following history: - The Bottling Rights: While Frank Stewart originally launched his root beer stands in 1924, the beverage remained a fountain-only staple for decades. In 1990, the Denver-based Cable Car Beverage Corporation acquired the exclusive bottling rights to commercially distribute Stewart's Root Beer in glass bottles across the United States.
- The 1995 Timeline: By 1995, under Cable Car Beverage Corp.'s management, Stewart's had successfully expanded nationwide. This exact style of metal sign was manufactured by advertising companies (such as Stout Marketing) during the mid-1990s promotional push. The fine print along the bottom edge typically bears the copyright text marking it as a 1995 Cable Car Beverage Corporation piece.
- Stout Marketing (Stout Industries): Located in St. Louis, Missouri, this well-known commercial sign manufacturer was commissioned by the Cable Car Beverage Corporation in 1995 to produce these high-quality, glossy metal signs for advertising and point-of-sale display
- Subsequent Sales: Cable Car Beverage Corp. operated the brand until November 1997, when it was acquired by Triarc Companies (which also owned Snapple). The brand was later sold to Cadbury Schweppes in 2000.
