Vintage Saint Christopher protective medal featuring a striking orange translucent enamel center with pale green enamel border reading “SAINT CHRISTOPHER PROTECT US.” on the front it looks like there’s a Neptune holding a trident and a surfer, you don’t see that one often.
The reverse features the classic surfer riding a wave design, making this an especially desirable piece of vintage California/surf culture jewelry.
Small pendant size, shown next to a Jefferson nickel for scale. Wonderful original age and patina with wear consistent with use. The enamel remains bright and displays beautifully.
Likely dating to approximately the 1960s–1970s, when Saint Christopher medals became especially popular with surfers, travelers, sailors and other outdoor enthusiasts as protective talismans.
