Vintage Salisbury \"Convolvulus\" Teacup and Saucer – Fine Bone China, Made in England
This is a lovely mid-century teacup and saucer set in the Convolvulus (morning glory) pattern by Salisbury China of Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, England. It dates to about the 1950s.
Soft pink and blue morning glory blooms and green leaves trail around the cup and the saucer rim. They sit on a delicate grey starburst background. The color is hand-applied, and both pieces have an elegant swirl-fluted body, a scalloped edge, and gold trim on the rims, foot, and handle.
Both pieces carry the Salisbury Fine Bone China crown backstamp with the \"Convolvulus\" pattern name and \"Made in England.\" The cup also has a hand-painted pattern number, and the saucer has a painter\'s mark.
This set would make a pretty addition to a teacup collection, a mismatched tea party table, or a gift for a vintage china lover.
