Vintage Scarce Rainy Day Flapjack Powder Compact Umbrellas Raindrops Book Piece For Sale

Offered is a hard to find powder compact called “Rainy Day”. The compact is featured in Mueller’s Collector’s Encyclopedia of Compacts. The book states that there are two Rainy Day compacts. One is made by Hingeco/Trueart and the other by Ritz. The only difference in the two is the back of the compact. The Hingeco/Trueart one has a bark like embossed reverse side while the Ritz is smooth. The one offered here has a bark like back exterior. Flapjack style, latch closes smoothly, mirror is clear and puff is included. The compact is adorable with random umbrellas and raindrops. 1946 ad piece. 4.0” in diameter.
