Vintage English Art Deco very stylish and geometrically designed set of two brushes, La Futuriste, beautifully fashioned from Agalin, a proprietary form of Bakelite/Catalin by the English NTS Plastics Company. Each brush has a typical Art Deco geometric carved shape design in emerald green marble color. Agalin is the British version of the early designs by Gustave Jensen for Dupont\'s \"Pyralin\" line and Paul Frankl\'s \"Amerith\" line for Celluloid Corp. All are proprietary alternate phenolics to Bakelite or Catalin. Both brush is marked \"Agalin - La Futuriste\" and company Hallmark. Excellent vintage condition looks like they saw little use as there are no pronounced signs of wear.

Material: Agalin - Bakelite (please note Agalin is a phenolic resin but doesn\'t test positive to regular Bakelite tests since the chemical components, although close to the Bakelite formula, are slightly different and the proportion of phenol in the material is extremely light preventing the regular testing for being positive). Technically, Agalin material can be described as a compromise between Bakelite and Celluloid.
Dimensions: 12\" 3/16 long x 1\" 11/16 wide x 1\" 9/16 high (31 x 4.3 x 4 cm) and 10\" 5/8 long x 3\" 1/8 wide x 1\" 3/8 high (27 x 8 x 3.5 cm).
Condition: Excellent vintage condition, no chip, no crack, hardly no visible traces of use
