This is aVintage, Silent Butler or Table Crumber. It has a hinged lid (with hinge pins) and a handle. It is made of metal (too heavy for aluminum, a magnet does not stick). The handle and sides of the piece are Hammered. the base is etched and shows some wear and the lid has a raised design, with a knob to lift the lid. The bottom, back side, is marked, "Made in Japan". It is really quite nice and a quality piece.
The Silent Butler measures 5 1/4" long x 3 1/2" wide x 1" deep.
The Crumber/Silent Butler is in great condition, without issues.
