Vintage South Wales Constabulary Police Inspector Custodian Helmet – Cork Body
Up for sale/sale is an authentic, vintage British police custodian helmet (\"bobby helmet\") from the South Wales Constabulary (the force name used between 1969 and 1996).
This is a premium, officer-grade piece featuring the rare silver metal rose-pattern band and matching side rosettes, which historically designated the rank of Inspector or above. It is an excellent addition to any British militaria, law enforcement, or historical collection.

This helmet is in good vintage condition with clear signs of authentic, real-world service use. Please examine the photos carefully to note the following:
- Service Markings: The original officer\'s collar number \"311\" is handwritten in black marker inside the dome in two places over a previously blacked-out number.
- Brim Damage: There is a vertical hairline fracture through the green rexine lining and underlying cork on the right side of the inner brim (see close-up photo). It remains stable but requires careful handling.
- Exterior Felt: The black felt body shows minor superficial scuffing/rubbing on the right side from storage and transport, typical for a helmet of this age.
- Missing Part: The leather chinstrap is missing.
